World Only in Dreams is is a freestyle play-by-post (aka forum-based) game, set in another world were fantasy and science fiction collide, designed to grow and change as members play out their individual stories. Just about anything can happen - it's all up to you.

WOiD Will Be Closing Down

Unfortunately, I don't mean just for a short time. The site will be going down indefinitely, mostly due to time, energy, and money restraints put on by real life. I need a job, I'll be in school again shortly, and frankly, I don't think I have any idea what I'm doing with this.

The game my eventually return, when I'm better equipped to handle something like this. It may be much the same, or it may be totally different. I can't really say.

I thank those who have participated, even those who did little, and I hope you all got at least a little pleasure out of it.

If you want to grab the things you added, please do so. I'm trying to make sure I have copies of everything myself, before I take the site down.

I need your help!

WOiD's Birthday!

This month mark's the second year of World Only in Dreams!

The current site has only been up for about one year, but it was May of 2008 that the concept site originally opened up. If you'd like to know more, check out the WOiD Wiki.

Things have run a bit slow up to now, but we've made it this far already. Let's keep going, and see just how big the world can be!

In the Wiki

A number of small edits have been made to the Wiki, mostly little fixes to certain pages, and a few new ones that mostly have the same information. A Legends category as been added, to hold pages about different deities and heroes of lore, etc, that the different races might have.

If you have not yet set up an account on the Wiki, I encourage you to do so, at least to set up and maintain your user pages and post your characters on approval. I've been doing it, but there's a number I've missed already. Unfortunately, some users are still having trouble with the email confirmation; let me know if it happens to you, and you can be granted an override.

In other news, next month, World Only in Dreams will be two years old!

Chat Box Removed

I imagine you have noticed the chat box has been removed, and I imagine at least some of you will be upset by that.

Unfortunately, the chat box was being counter productive. Everyone was talking in it and barely posting in the forums, even though there is a forum specifically for chatting. It was also getting more and more spam as time went on.

I may eventually put the chat box back up, but only after I've seen some more activity in the forums. It was not meant as the sole way fro you all to talk - it was simply supposed to be a quick, friendly means of communication between people online, for times when there's not enough to put into a post or a PM.

I appologize if this decision upsets you, but hope you can understand and accept it.
