 The Iron Boy, Damon Revol
Name: Damon Revol, "The Iron Boy" Age: 21 Race: Human (symbiotically augmented) Gender: Male Appearance: He looks like a seven-year old boy, tousled blonde hair and blue eyes, with iridescent burgundy-colored metallic plating down his spine. Personality: The maturity he exudes from his apparently childish body is off-putting to some. He knows how to act the part of the child well for the sideshow audiences, but struggles on his own time to be respected for his true age. This can make him seem cold or introverted sometimes, but he's a genuinely caring person.
History: As a child he lived with his family in a village on the borders of rough lands to the southeast, where the mistakes of ancient lords and mages left behind strange land and even stranger creatures. His grandfather, while alive, taught him how to respect the wilds, and survive if you needed to. He always particularly loved the iridescent beauty of the large beetlepedes and their metallic shells. They lived on the ribbon fungus that grew off of the trees, and were not dangerous.
When his grandfather died, young Damon ran off into the wild woods and became lost. For months, he had to survive on ribbon fungus and river water. As the chemical attractant in the ribbon fungus accumulated in his body, the beetlepedes began to seem to enjoy crawling on him. And then one day he woke up with a beetlepede fused to his spine.
As he wandered, the beetlepede grew into the surface of his body. He found that when attacked, by animals, for instance, he would grow a filmy impact-resistant defensive layer on his body, that he could later release and peel off. This substance was matte and transparent, and a swift impact would bounce off of it but slow pressure could pierce it.
A couple of years went by, but he had not aged in that time. The beetlepede had taken over the regulation of his body, increasing his strength to that of a grown man. He joined with a traveling show, billed as "The immovable Iron Boy". His secretion would bond his bare feet to the stage boards, and he would take sledgehammer hits from the audience, withstand varying grades of firearms, and end the show taking a cannon shot to the chest.
The traveling show joined up with the Airship Extravaganza project, and he now works the sideshow there.
